Frayer and Reggie
Age 10 and 11
East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH) - Quidenham
“Ruby”
Frayer is ten years old and her brother, Reggie, is 11 years old.
Their sister Ruby died when she was only four and a half from a congenital disorder called glycosylation.
Ruby's condition meant she didn't develop like other children and was unable to talk, walk, or eat.
Frayer, Reggie and their mum Kelly have accessed care and support services from East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH), Quidenham hospice including care for Ruby, as well as pre and post-bereavement support and sibling group support.
Frayer and Reggie said: "We are involved with Quidenham because our little sister died and they have helped us to settle down and remember Ruby. Before Ruby died we visited Quidenham a lot - it's quite cool and when Ruby died, she stayed at Quidenham and we gave her a big cuddle.
"Quidenham staff come to visit us at school, which has stopped our bad dreams and stopped the bad stuff.
"Ruby is our hero because she is our special little sister and she gave us the best four and a half years of our lives. When we think of Ruby, we think of flowers on a summer's day, hearts and stars. We painted Ruby wearing her fairy wings. Ruby's smile made us smile, and it still does."
