Zonera is 15 years old and lives with her mum (her first hero) and younger sister, but also spends a great deal of time with her granny (her second hero) who lives next door. Her younger sister, Nimra, was born with a complex heart condition, which has necessitated prolonged periods in hospital, numerous operations and Nimra needing a great deal of care and attention. Undoubtedly this has had an impact on Zonera and has meant that over the years she has had to become quite self-sufficient and accepts that often her needs have had to come second to her sister's. Her maturity has also developed by having to cope in times of extreme medical emergencies.

Nimra and her family have been receiving support from the Pepper Children's Team for three years. Zonera has also benefited after being introduced to the Children's Support Facilitator from within the Iain Rennie- Pepper Children's Team. Their time together is dedicated one on one and is spent doing a variety of activities. This is a chance for her to express any concerns, worries or feelings and to enable her to develop coping strategies to manage the multitude of feelings she inevitably experiences, living with the complexities of her family situation.
