Haven House Children's Hospice

"Mr Wright"

Cameron lives with his parents and two sisters in North East London. He is 13 years old and has been supported by Haven House Children's Hospice since 2003 due to his complex heart problem, truncus arteriosus, and several other conditions.

Although too much physical activity leaves Cameron tired and aching, he doesn't allow his health problems to prevent him from leading a full and active life. He enjoys going to school where he is in the choir. He also plays cricket and basketball.

Cameron's hero is his teacher from last year - Mr Wright. As well as being a really good teacher, Mr Wright is very kind. He helped Cameron to have more confidence in himself and his abilities. He encouraged Cameron to play an active part in school life and as a result he is now on the School Council. During his year in Mr Wright's class, Cameron's learning took a real leap forward. His reading, writing and mathematics abilities improved and he discovered a love of history. When Cameron had any problems Mr Wright would help him sort them out without any fuss.

Cameron's artwork is a drawing and is a very good likeness of his hero!
