Andrew
Age 10
The Donna Louise Children's Hospice
"Spiderman"
Andrew is ten years old and is a fun loving, cheeky young man. Andrew has renal problems which means he requires dialysis six days a week. Andrew's family care for his needs at home which can be very demanding and stressful. Andrew and his family enjoy their regular stays at The Donna Louise Children's Hospice. This gives the whole family a break which ensures that they can spend some quality time together.
Andrew loves to play on the Playstation especially on a game called ‘buzz'. He has become the ‘buzz champion' at the hospice through winning endless games against members of staff. Andrew also adores Spiderman and decided to create a piece of artwork dedicated to Spiderman, his hero. When Andrew was asked why he liked Spiderman so much he replied that it was because he is strong, fights villains and saves the world. Andrew commented that he would love to be like Spiderman when he is older. Andrew really enjoyed creating his piece of art and was thrilled he was asked if it could be part of the project.
Andrew has a younger brother who he dotes on and loves to spend time with. They are nearly always together. Andrew is a very courageous young man who is full of life and has not let his illness prevent him from doing anything that he has wanted to.
